Finch Family Freedom

$15.00

Lori finished this male and female finch and realized that the painting needed a baby finch. So the baby was added, balancing out the composition. As she looked at the Mama, Daddy, and Baby finch family she remembered a little story.

One day this lady was out for a walk and saw a little baby bird up on a branch by itself. It was hungry, chirping, and alone. She wished she could reach the poor little thing. Then she looked up and saw the mama and daddy in a branch further up the tree. Why wouldn’t they come down and tend to their baby? The woman even got angry. Then she looked a little closer and saw that the mama and daddy bird had broken wings. They couldn’t fly down to tend to their baby even though it was crying for them. The woman was saddened but it made her think. Her relationship with her parents had not been the best. She realized that she had harshly judged them for that. But perhaps they too had “broken wings” and couldn’t help her then just like this little family of birds. The woman decided to forgive her parents and although their neglect was real, carrying bitterness was not helping her. Forgiveness lightened her load and she never forgot about that little family of birds.
